KIM CATTRALL DA "SEX & THE CITY" AL ROMA FICTION FEST 2008
Golden Globe winning actress Kim Cattrall has many accolades. In addition to her Golden Globe® win she is also a three-time Golden Globe® and Emmy® nominee, as well as a Screen Actor's Guild award-winning actress who has received worldwide critical acclaim for her portrayal of the femme fatale, Samantha Jones, in the HBO hit series, Sex and the City.

Her extensive acting career has spanned film, stage and television. Born in Liverpool, England, and raised on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, Cattrall moved to New York City by herself at the age of 16 to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

On graduation, film director Otto Preminger signed her to a 5-year film contract. A year later Universal Studios bought out that contract and Kim became one of the last participants of the Universal Contract Player System. While under contract at Universal, Kim guest starred in numerous television series, which eventually led to starring roles opposite Jack Lemmon in his Academy Award nominated performance in "Tribute" and her Lead Actress Genie nomination (Canadian Oscars) for her performance in "Ticket to Heaven".

She then starred in a host of Hollywood blockbuster films, including "Police Academy 1"; "Porkys"; "Mannequin"; "Masquerade"; "Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country"; "John Carpenters Big Trouble in Little China" opposite Kurt Russell; and with Tom Hanks in Brian De Palmas' "Bonfire Of The Vanities". Her performance as Jamie in the delightful Independent feature "Live Nude Girls" earned her rave reviews at numerous Film Festivals. She was most recently seen as Britany Spears' Mom in "Crossroads".

When not working in film or television, Kim has returned to the stage starring in critically acclaimed productions of Arthur Miller's "A View From The Bridge", Anton Chekhov's "Three Sister's" (Drama Logue Award), Strindberg's "Miss Julie", and Molieres' "The Misanthrope". She made her Broadway debut opposite Ian McKellen in the National Theater of London's production of Michael Frayn's adaptation of Chekhov's "Wild Honey".

On television she starred opposite Jamie Lee Curtis in the TNT television adaptation of Wendy Wasserstein's Pulitzer Prize winning play "The Heidi Chronicles" and in Oliver Stone's mini series "Wild Palms" for ABC. Fans got to see the personal side of Kim in the Lee Grant-directed Lifetime television segment: "Intimate Portrait: Kim Cattrall".

Kim was selected by Pepsi One as their 2000/2001 television campaign spokesperson and she is a recording artist on the Red Rose Music SACD Sampler Volume One recording, reading the poetry of Rupert Brooke.
